CO₂ Facility Design
- CO₂ Compression and Dehydration Facilities – Blowers, compression, cooling, dehydration, custody-transfer metering, and pipeline delivery. Our design experience includes 110 MTPD injection facilities, a 125,000-tonne-per-year compression and dehydration facility, and FEED and EPC scope on a 1,000 MTPD capture facility at an ethanol plant in Texas.
- CO₂ Liquefaction, Storage, and Truck-Loading Facilities – Liquefaction, pressurized storage, loading pumps, weigh systems, vapor recovery, and custody transfer. Current designs handle up to 1,000 MTPD with 2,000 metric tonnes of storage and multiple truck-loading positions. Earlier work produced 99% CO₂ meeting ISBT beverage-grade standards.
- CO₂ Truck Receipt and Pipeline Transfer Facilities – Truck unloading, vaporization, storage, transfer pumps, metering, and pipeline tie-ins. Our designs include facilities receiving roughly 750 MTPD, supported by 750 metric tonnes of onsite storage.
- CO₂ Injection and Sequestration Facilities – Injection compression, central facilities, manifolds, wellsite tie-ins, measurement, controls, and SCADA.
- Enhanced Oil Recovery Facilities – CO₂ processing, liquefaction, truck logistics, transmission pipelines, vaporization, distribution systems, and multi-well injection. Our EOR work in Saskatchewan and Alberta has ranged from 340 MTPD across 8 wells to more than 3,000 MTPD across 160 wells.
CCUS Tax Credit and Regulatory Strategy
45Q, 45Z, and the Canadian CCUS investment tax credit change how a project gets built, not just how it gets financed. Facility boundaries, eligible equipment, carbon intensity inputs, custody-transfer measurement, and recordkeeping all have to line up with the credit being claimed, and those decisions are cheapest to make during feasibility and FEED. We build them into the execution plan, including performance-based offsite supply and onsite services where the incentive structure calls for it. Eligibility is ultimately a tax and legal question, and we expect owners to confirm it with their own advisors.
Integrated CCUS Project Delivery
We support CCUS projects from feasibility and FEED through detailed engineering, equipment supply, construction management, commissioning, and startup. We stay technology agnostic. Owners can specify their own capture or liquefaction packager, or we can shortlist and evaluate the options, and we develop the cost basis open book so the numbers behind FID are visible. The balance-of-plant design then ties CO₂ specification, throughput, storage capacity, truck or pipeline logistics, injection conditions, utilities, controls, and future expansion into one facility.
