Our team looks at the whole emissions profile before recommending anything: venting, flaring, fugitives, pneumatic devices, tanks, compressors, dehydrators, and wellsite equipment. The goal is to find reductions that hold up technically and fit the compliance pathway you have chosen, not a list of retrofits that never get funded.
Emissions inventories, process conditions, control technology, measurement, SCADA, cost, and schedule all get connected in one plan. That is how a methane abatement project gets built without taking production and facility availability down with it.
Methane Regulations and Compliance Engineering
- Applicability assessments, emissions inventories, gap reviews, and compliance roadmaps
- Engineering inputs for leak detection and repair, measurement, monitoring, reporting, and recordkeeping
- Facility modifications for controlled venting, flare reduction, gas conservation, and equipment retrofits
- Capital planning that coordinates regulatory timing, production impacts, procurement, construction, and verification
Canada and U.S. Oil and Gas Methane Regulations
We regularly develop projects under Canada’s federal and provincial methane frameworks, including the federal Enhanced Methane Regulations and equivalency regimes such as Alberta’s Methane Emission Reduction Regulation and AER requirements. In the United States, our execution planning accounts for EPA New Source Performance Standards under OOOOb, state plans for existing sources under OOOOc, Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program requirements, and the BLM Waste Prevention Rule where federal or Tribal leases are involved. Requirements and implementation dates continue to shift, so we confirm the jurisdiction and compliance basis at the start of every project rather than assuming it carries over from the last one.
Methane Abatement and Emissions-Control Facility Design

- Pneumatic and Instrument-Gas Conversions – Instrument-air packages, electric actuators, low- or zero-emission controllers, power systems, and control upgrades.
- Flare and Vent Reduction Systems – Flare-gas recovery, enclosed combustion, purge and pilot optimization, blowdown recovery, measurement, and operating controls.
- Compressor and Dehydrator Emissions Controls – Seal-vent recovery, rod-packing systems, compressor blowdown modifications, dehydrator-vent controls, and supporting utilities.
- Turbine and Compressor Dry-Gas-Seal Capture Systems – Dry-gas-seal vent collection, separation, measurement, recovery compression, routing to fuel or sales gas, controls, and safe handling of primary and secondary seal leakage.
- Leak Detection, Measurement, and Automation – Monitoring infrastructure, flow measurement, alarms, SCADA, data integration, and verification support.
- Integrated Project Delivery – Feasibility, FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and startup.
