Low-Grade Waste Heat Recovery for Building and Piping Systems
Low-temperature heat is well suited to offsetting fuel for building heating, piping heat, heat tracing, freeze protection, and utility systems. We design glycol and water-based recovery loops with the heat exchangers, circulation pumps, surge vessels, building heaters, process coils, controls, and backup heating needed to keep the facility warm when the heat source is down.
High-Value Process Heat, Hot-Oil and Absorption Cooling Systems
Higher-temperature exhaust and process streams are worth more, and they open up options beyond heating. Our designs include waste-heat exchangers, hot-oil and thermal-fluid loops, process-heating interfaces, bypass systems, supplemental heating, and absorption chillers. An absorption chiller lets recovered heat produce chilled water for processing, building cooling, or turbine-inlet cooling, which is often where the economics land in hot climates.
HRSG, Waste Heat Boiler and Steam System Integration
We work on fired and unfired heat recovery steam generators, waste heat boilers, once-through steam generators, steam distribution, boiler-feedwater systems, condensate return, pressure control, steam letdown, utility tie-ins, and conventional steam piping. Integrating gas turbines, steam turbines, emissions-control systems, modular equipment, and plant controls means designing for the cases operators actually live with: variable heat availability, startup, shutdown, and backup operation.
Waste Heat to Power and Organic Rankine Cycle Systems
Where a conventional steam cycle does not make sense, an ORC unit can turn low- to medium-temperature exhaust into electricity. CANUSA EPC handles the balance of plant around it, including exhaust diverters, ID fans, dampers, expansion joints, ducting, piping, foundations, step-up transformers, switchgear and sync gear, distribution, controls, commissioning, and startup. Our experience includes megawatt-scale systems recovering gas-turbine and industrial exhaust heat, with the electrical integration self-performed rather than handed to another contractor.
